Doors open for pre-conference sessions
Today the doors opened for the 47th Union World Conference on Lung Health at the ACC in Liverpool. Delegates from across the globe started arriving from 8am when registration opened, greeted by Union staff and volunteers.
Throughout the day delegates could attend a range of pre-conference activities including the World Health Organization’s Global TB symposium: Knowing your epidemic, driving change to end TB. This full-day event brought together an international panel of experts, including The Union's Executive Director José Luis Castro, Eric Goosby, UN Special Envoy on TB and Mario Raviglione, World Health Organization to address the challenges and opportunities in making progress to end TB.
Delegates could also attend post-graduate courses, including a course on TB prevention in children and people living with HIV in high-burden settings.
